Climate Conversations: Creation Care

with Rev. Susan Mullin and Cathy Velasquez Eberhart

Sunday, November 19  4:00 to 6:00pm at Path of Grace UMC

Rev. Susan Mullin and Cathy Velasquez Eberhart will be speaking on “Creation Care” which is part of the United Methodist Earthkeepers program to promote care of the universe.  Mullin, Minister of Faith Formation and Community Outreach at Faith United Methodist Church in St. Anthony, was one of six people selected in 2014 to serve on the United Methodist Church’s Global Ministries Creation Care Team.   Velasquez Eberhart is a lay member of Prospect Park United Methodist Church who has been commissioned as an Earthkeeper.

The presentation is intended to help Minnesotans with three things;

1) why we should care about creation,

2) what is known about climate change,

3) what as Christians, we can do to respond.

UMW Christmas Gathering

With Lori Dokken and Judi Vinar

Saturday December 2  9:30am at Path of Grace UMC

9:30am  Coffee and treats and UMW officer installation

10:15am "Celebrating Christmas Old & New and a Little Swedish Too" program

Lori, a Minnesota native, has been a local cabaret performer, vocalist, pianist, arranger, producer and musical director for almost four decades. We have enjoyed her music here several times in the past. If variety is the spice of life, call Judi "curry". No matter what style of music she sings (swing, folk, R&B, cabaret, or gospel) it sounds as though she doesn't do anything else. Lori and Judy work together as music director and choir director at Unity Minneapolis. Everyone is welcome to join in the holiday fun. Please sign up at the Welcome Center.

Copper Street Brass in Concert

Saturday, December 16  8pm at Path of Grace UMC

There’s no better time for brass than the holidays! The Copper Street Brass will be back this year with their popular holiday concert which celebrates the stories and sounds of the season performed with passion, humor, and virtuosity. Hear music from childhood movies like A Charlie Brown Christmas and The Grinch as well as carols, classical, funk, rock, and more.

They will perform four holiday concerts around the Twin Cities and we are excited to once again host them at our church.

Tickets are on sale now at www.copperstreetbrass.org.
